This sacrament strengthens and confirms the faithful in living the Christian life.  God initiates the action with the outpouring of the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit in the sacrament.

For St. Thomas the Apostle and St. Cecilia Parishes, the Sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated every other year with high school juniors and seniors who freely choose to receive the sacrament.  Candidates must complete a preparation program and attend Mass regularly to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.  

For adults who are to be baptized, they normally receive the sacrament of Confirmation at the same time.
